Figgs’ Employee Spotlight series highlights a different employee every month, offering an inside look into our company culture and the talented individuals who make up our team.
This month’s Employee Spotlight features Senior Manager of National Advertising Partnerships, Maria Sanchez. Maria plays a key role in supporting the growth of Figg’s national advertiser business through optimal client management that leads to sustainable, long-term relationships with our partners. During the start of the pandemic in 2020, Maria began to seek out a more innovative and challenging career path. She was drawn to Figg because despite the global pandemic, Figg was still flourishing and spreading their reach through its card-linked offer platform. The increased growth of the company combined with having a friend (and neighbor) already working at Figg, made accepting the role a no-brainer. Since the beginning of her journey with Figg, Maria has become the go-to resource for our national advertising clients.
Maria’s role at Figg is far from routine. She thrives in ambiguity and working with other teams such as Operations, Analytics, Marketing and Finance to deliver for her clients. Through this collaboration, she’s able to support new business opportunities, launch and execute campaigns and manage client requests. As the primary point-of-contact to our advertising partners, Maria goes above and beyond to build solid relationships, collect all the needed assets for campaign launch and deliver successful campaigns that are backed by performance data.
When she’s not in the office, you can find Maria relaxing on the beach. If she were offered a surprise day off, she would take the opportunity to completely unplug from all work-related activities and technology. Living in Jersey City, Maria knows the best areas to unwind by the shore. Accompanying her tech-less tranquility with some good drinks and tasty food, she’d spend the whole day sun bathing and recharging. Once her beach day wraps, she would end her day at home with some Netflix.
One of Maria’s favorite parts of working at Figg is the support from upper management. She explains that she doesn’t feel the sort of hierarchy she has felt in previous roles but she does feel she has sturdy role models to look up to. Another quality Maria jives with is the closeness and accepting culture at Figg. She states “Everyone is very close and family oriented. The job can be super challenging and unpredictable some days but it is also very rewarding and you get to work with a lot of great people.”
If Maria were to hang up the towel and retire tomorrow, she would move to Spain. Having Venezuelan roots, the majority of her family resides in Spain and she would love to be closer to them. She’d spend her time in Spain fueling her creative side and focus on the things that make her happy. Maria originally went to design school and loves everything related to art, creative writing and culture. Of course, she’d need to be by the beach! Relaxing, eating and basking in the sun by the ocean with her two cats is what’s on Maria’s agenda during her future retirement.
Overall, Maria is highly motivated by the fast-paced and challenging culture at Figg. Her motivation and dedication to our clients shines through in the many long-term relationships she’s formed since being a part of our team. Thank you for all your hard work, Maria!
